There are many examples in the Bible where music was used to help God's people connect with Him in many ways and even at desperate times.  David was called several times to the King's palace to play his harp.  When David played, King Saul found relief from his tormenting spirits.  Later, when David was King, he designated four thousand musicians in the temple to sing and play instruments for the continual praises and worship of God.  David requested this service to be their only occupation, for the Lord is worthy to be praised.

When Elisha the prophet was asked to hear from the Lord, he called for a musician.  When the musician played, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Elisha and he spoke the word of the Lord. 

From a very young age, I was drawn to music.  I could not wait to learn how to play the guitar and finally began at the age of eight.  As a young man in my twenties, I enjoyed playing on worship teams and sensing the presence of God while I was doing so.  Later, I went through a musically dormant season when the guitars and instruments lay mostly untouched in my closets as I focused on other areas of ministry, working, and raising a family.  In recent years, the Lord began drawing me back to playing music.  I had a deep longing to play and to experience God in that way again.  So I shook off the dust, so to speak, picked up my guitars, and joined the worship team at my church.  I began to realize that the Lord was using music and melody to draw me back to Him.  At the time I began to long for this, I had no idea how badly I was going to need it.  I will share more of the details at another time, but for now suffice it to say, I found healing and comfort through the most difficult times.  As I continue, I know He will guide me home.

My heart and my longing now is that I would play music for Him.  That everything I do is a form of worship.  I hope to play in a way that draws you and me closer to God.  I want to play like David and the one that Elisha called.  I want the sounds of it to be inviting and pleasing to the Lord.  As I look to Him for inspiration and communion through the Holy Spirit, I am confident that the result will spring forth song and melody.  I hope to play in a way that will draw you into the very presence of God to experience His Goodness and His Great Love for you.  Miracles happen and lives are forever changed as we encounter God.  With God, all things are possible!
